Pistol buying guide

Choosing a gel blaster pistol

Gel blaster pistols offer a compact alternative to a rifle, with different grips, controls and operating systems. Our range includes gas blowback models with a cycling slide and manual spring pistols that need cocking for each shot. Start with the feel and style you prefer, then compare the cost and upkeep.

Gas blowback or manual spring?

Gas blowback pistols

Gas blowback (GBB) uses gas to fire the gel ball and cycle the slide. Choose it if the moving slide, firing feedback and operation are part of the experience you want. You will need suitable gas and hydrated gels, and should allow for ongoing gas purchases and maintenance.

Manual spring pistols

A spring pistol needs to be cocked before each shot. It does not need gas, a battery or a charger, so the setup is simpler. Our current spring models are A$115 each; they suit buyers who specifically want manual operation rather than a gas blowback cycle.

Choose the style you like

Platform names help narrow down the shape and controls. They do not guarantee that magazines, holsters, optics or internal parts will fit every version.

G-Series

Compare G-Series 17, G-Series 19, G-Series 19X, G-Series 22, G-Series 45 and G-Series 18C models, including MOS and non-MOS options. Look at grip shape, slide size and controls as well as appearance. The G-Series category also includes a manual spring G-Series 17, so check the power system.

1911

Start here if you prefer the classic 1911 profile and controls. The gas collection includes different constructions and finishes; compare the exact frame, slide and grip materials. A manual spring 1911 is listed separately in our spring range.

Hi-Capa / 2011

The current range includes a 5.1 Hi-Capa and 2011-style builds such as Combat Master, Pit Viper and Sand Viper. Compare the actual controls, optic provision and firing modes on each listing rather than assuming all Hi-Capa models have the same specification.

TTI styles

TTI options appear across both G-Series and 2011 platforms. This is a styling and model choice, not a separate power system. Check which platform a build uses before choosing spare magazines, a holster or accessories.

Canik TP9

The Canik TP9 gas blowback model offers another shape and control layout to compare. If you already have a pistol, do not assume its magazines or holster will suit the Canik. Check the listing and ask us to confirm fit.

What to compare before buying

Grip and handling

A pistol that looks right may not feel right in your hand. Compare grip size, trigger reach, slide length and how comfortably you can operate the controls. Visit our QLD physical shop to compare the models available in local stock.

Materials and fitted features

Price differences can reflect slide and frame materials, CNC machining, optic mounting provisions, licensing and the fitted internal configuration. A metal slide with a polymer frame is not the same construction as a metal slide and frame. Check the exact build.

The rest of the setup

Budget for gels, suitable gas if needed, and any spare magazine or accessories you want. A speed loader is optional and can make filling compatible magazines easier. Optics and holsters need their own fit checks; they are not automatically included.

Gel blaster pistol questions

Which gel blaster pistol is best for me?

Start with your budget, the grip and style you like, and whether you want gas blowback or manual spring operation. A spring pistol keeps the setup simple; a gas blowback pistol adds a cycling slide and firing feedback. Compare models in our QLD physical shop rather than choosing on appearance or FPS alone.

What is the difference between gas and spring pistols?

A gas blowback pistol uses gas to fire and cycle the slide. A manual spring pistol must be cocked for each shot and does not use gas or a battery. The running costs and maintenance differ, so choose the operating system as well as the external style.

Do I need a battery or charger?

Not for the gas blowback or manual spring pistols currently in this range. Gas models need suitable gas and hydrated gels; manual spring models need suitable gels. Check the individual product's package contents before ordering.

What else should I buy with a pistol?

Check what is included in the box, then add any missing gel balls and the correct gas for a gas-powered model. Gas is an ongoing consumable. A speed loader is optional, while a spare magazine can be useful. Confirm that the loader and magazine suit your pistol.

Which gas should I use?

Use the gas specified for your exact pistol. Several current G-Series listings specify green gas; for example, the G-Series 17 G5 listing recommends adding green gas and gels. Do not choose a different gas pressure or gas system just because another pistol uses it. Ask us if the product listing is unclear.

Can I use the same magazine in different pistols?

Do not assume so. Platform, manufacturer, model and generation can affect fit and feeding. Send us the exact pistol model or bring it to our QLD physical shop before buying a spare. We can help choose from our pistol magazine range.

Can I fit a red dot to any gel blaster pistol?

No. Some models have an optic-ready or MOS slide; others do not. The optic footprint, adapter plate and mounting hardware must suit the exact model. Check the product specification and ask us to match a pistol sight before ordering.

Can Cyber Custom service or upgrade my pistol?

Our Cyber Custom workshop offers servicing, repairs and compatible upgrades. Tell us the exact model, its condition and what you want to change. The available work depends on the pistol and suitable parts; you can discuss the options at our QLD physical shop.

Can I order a pistol for delivery outside Queensland?

Online orders are available for Queensland delivery addresses. South Australia orders must be arranged by contacting our team and can only be delivered to a licensed dealer's address. Existing checkout location restrictions still apply. See our Terms of Service for ordering requirements.
