Match the charger to the battery label

A gel blaster charger is not universal. Check the battery's cell count, charging connector and permitted charge current against the charger's instructions. The supported battery range matters more than how similar two chargers look.

The charging options in this range

Gens ace iMars S10

The iMars S10 is a compact USB-C-powered balance charger for 2–3S LiPo packs. Its specified output is up to 10W and 0.8A, and charging uses the balance connector. Check the required USB power supply as well as the battery; not every phone adapter meets its input requirements.

X-Force balance charger

The X-Force unit combines balance charging with a voltage display. It supports 2–4-cell LiPo packs, corresponding to nominal 7.4V, 11.1V and 14.8V. Charge one battery at a time and follow the supplied instructions. Charger support for 14.8V does not mean your blaster can use that battery voltage.

Adapter cable, not a charger

The Tamiya-to-Deans cable connects a specified Tamiya battery plug to a Deans-equipped blaster. It does not charge a battery or change its voltage. Check the cable's connector direction and polarity; it is not a substitute for a compatible balance charger.

Before connecting a battery

Check the supported cell count

For standard LiPo packs, 7.4V is 2S and 11.1V is 3S. The iMars S10 supports those cell counts; it is not a 4S charger. Other chargers have different limits, so check the exact model instead of treating all balance chargers as interchangeable.

Read the indicator instructions

A flashing light or voltage readout needs to be interpreted using that charger's instructions. Do not assume the colours and patterns mean the same thing on every model. Check the manual for completion and error signals before the first charge.

Charge with supervision

Remove the battery from the blaster and charge it away from flammable materials. Stay nearby and monitor it; do not leave it charging overnight. Follow the battery label and manufacturer's charging precautions.

Common questions

Can one charger charge both 7.4V and 11.1V LiPo batteries?

Yes, if it supports both 2S and 3S LiPo packs and the battery's charging requirements. The iMars S10 and X-Force models listed here support those cell counts. Check the battery's allowed charge current and charging connection as well; voltage support alone is not the complete check.

Does a Deans or Tamiya battery need a different charger?

The blaster's power connector does not decide this by itself. The iMars S10 charges through the battery's balance connector rather than its Deans or Tamiya power lead. Check the actual balance connection and cell count against the charger instructions.

Can I use any USB power adapter with the iMars S10?

No. Gens ace specifies a suitable 5V input supply and states that a 5V/1A adapter is not supported. Check the input requirements on the product and charger instructions before using an existing USB supply. USB-C alone does not confirm suitability.

How long does a gel blaster battery take to charge?

There is no single time for every pack and charger. Capacity, starting charge, permitted charge current and the charger's output all matter. Follow the model's completion indicator and instructions rather than leaving a battery connected for a guessed number of hours.

Is a Tamiya-to-Deans adapter a battery charger?

No. It is a connection adapter for the specified battery and blaster plugs. It does not provide charging control, change the battery chemistry or convert its voltage. You still need a charger suitable for the battery.

Can CyberTrigger help match a charger to my battery?

Yes. Bring the battery and existing charger, if you have one, to our QLD physical shop. We can check the labels and connectors against available local stock, with our Cyber Custom workshop available for setup-specific questions.
